New PhD opportunity at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in innovative mobility concepts for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic & Paralympic Games . This project is designed to shape inclusive, efficient, and sustainable transport systems for a major international event, with an emphasis on long-term urban legacy. The project is led by Associate Professor Rafael Gomez (QUT Industrial Design and BMW Group + QUT Design Academy), with associate supervision from Professor Ronald Schroeter (Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety), Professor Dr. Gjoko Muratovski (QUT School of Design / Icona Design Group), and Juan Antonio Islas Muñoz (ViMO-Lab, University of Montreal). Research themes include mobility innovation , transport design , industrial design , design engineering , user-centred design , and strategic planning for mega-events. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders and government, benchmark global mega-event mobility strategies, explore user-centred transport design, develop strategic mobility frameworks, and create visionary transport concepts. Ideal applicants should have a background in automotive , transport , industrial design , or design engineering , along with strong visualisation and design communication skills.
