Postdoctoral Fellowship in Electronics Thermal Management and Electronic Cooling at SRM Institute of Science and Technology
The Center of Excellence for Electronic Cooling and CFD Simulation at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, is inviting applications for the National Post Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) in the area of Electronics Thermal Management. This prestigious fellowship is designed to support motivated young researchers in frontier areas of science and engineering, particularly focusing on electronic cooling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), nanomaterials for thermal management, microfluidic cooling, advanced heat sinks, and thermal modeling and simulation.
The center, established with support from Intel Corporation, offers state-of-the-art infrastructure including 30 high-performance workstations and access to leading simulation software such as Ansys Workbench, COMSOL Multiphysics, and Autodesk Fusion 360. Research at the center spans multidisciplinary topics such as nanomaterials for heat dissipation, microfluidic systems for device cooling, lattice structures for advanced heat sinks, two-phase cooling systems, and thermal management in power electronics. The center’s mission is to train and empower researchers and students to innovate sustainable cooling techniques and products, with a strong emphasis on industry collaboration and real-world impact.
The N-PDF is a fully funded, two-year postdoctoral position open to Indian citizens who have completed or submitted their Ph.D., M.D., or M.S. thesis in relevant fields. The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of Rs. 80,000 (or Rs. 50,000 for those awaiting degree award), a research grant of Rs. 2,00,000 per annum, and overheads of Rs. 1,00,000 per annum. Applicants must be under 35 years of age (with relaxations for certain categories) and cannot work with their previous PhD guide or at the same institution where they earned their degree. The position is supervised by Prof. Gnanavel B. K., an expert in mechanical engineering and electronic cooling, and offers opportunities to collaborate with leading industry and academic partners.
