PhD Position in Applied Electromagnetics, Microwave Engineering, and Antennas at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals
King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in the Applied Electromagnetics Laboratory, led by Associate Professor Hussein Attia. The research group focuses on cutting-edge topics in applied electromagnetics, microwave engineering, antennas, EM sensors, wireless communication, reconfigurable antennas, metamaterials, intelligent reflecting surfaces, and biomedical applications of electromagnetic sensors.
Applicants must have a strong background in Electrical/Electronics/Wireless Communication Engineering, with a Master's degree in Microwaves, Antennas, or EM Sensors. Candidates with Physics degrees are not eligible. A minimum GPA of 3.5 in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. is required, and at least one published paper is expected. Exceptional BSc-only candidates from top universities with a GPA above 3.75/4 may also apply. English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo) is required.
The scholarship package includes a monthly stipend, furnished on-campus housing, free tuition, airfare for international students, medical and dental care, subsidized meals, free textbooks, library and lab access, and recreational facilities including a private beach. Additional opportunities for research assistantships, funded research projects, and conference participation support are available.
