PhD in Economics of Education and Applied Microeconomics at the University of Patras

New PhD opening in Economics of Education at the Department of Economics, University of Patras . The project is centered on empirical research in applied microeconomics , with emphasis on policy-relevant questions and causal inference methods. The selected PhD candidate will be supervised by Ioannis Laliotis as lead supervisor, together with two distinguished scholars from Monash University and the University of Cambridge . The student will join a highly active and international research cluster and contribute to the organization of the Patras Applied Microeconomics (PAM) Workshop . Research interests highlighted in the call include economics of education , applied microeconomics , and related quantitative fields such as econometrics , statistics , and data science . The broader research environment also connects to labor and health economics. Eligibility includes a master’s degree in Economics or a related discipline, or a five-year undergraduate degree equivalent to 300 ECTS. Applicants should have strong quantitative preparation and provide a language certificate in at least one official EU language, preferably English, unless exempt as an English-degree holder.
