W3 Professor of Biochemistry / Pathobiochemistry at Goethe University Frankfurt

Goethe University Frankfurt is recruiting a W3 Professor of Biochemistry / Pathobiochemistry with directorship of the Institute of Biochemistry I. This is a fully tenured professorship at a major biomedical campus in Frankfurt am Main, with generous lab and office space, long-term faculty support, and access to excellent core facilities. The appointment is closely connected to the Gustav-Embden Center of Biochemistry and collaboration with the partner institute Biochemistry II / PROXIDRUGS. The successful candidate will help shape new directions in a highly collaborative environment and contribute to teaching and examining preclinical medical and dental students, as well as students in the international Master’s program in Molecular Medicine. Research areas of interest include biochemistry , pathobiochemistry , molecular biology , structural biology , chemical biology , and related fields, with links to the university’s profile areas in Science for Health and Structure & Dynamics of Life. The post is especially relevant to candidates working in cardiology, oncology, neuroscience, and drug research. Applicants should be internationally recognized biochemists with a doctorate in biochemistry or a related field, additional academic qualifications such as habilitation or equivalent, a strong publication record, substantial third-party funding, leadership and mentorship experience, and documented teaching experience in biochemistry curricula.
