Postdoctoral Fellowship in Plant Molecular Evolution and Genetics

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Plant Molecular Evolution and Genetics at the University of Kansas The Choi Lab at the University of Kansas is recruiting a funded postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary project in plant genetics , molecular biology , evolutionary biology , functional genomics , and genomic data analysis . The project investigates variation in plant telomeres and the evolutionary forces shaping telomere biology, using approaches such as CRISPR technologies, quantitative genetics, single-cell methods, and population genomics. This opportunity is supported by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is based at the University of Kansas, USA . The appointment is initially for one year with the possibility of extension. The lab highlights a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and offers the chance to develop independent research projects while contributing to student mentoring and training. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in genetics, molecular biology, evolutionary biology, or a related field. Prior experience in plant biology or plant genetics is required, and experience with high-throughput sequencing or genomic data analysis is preferred. A strong interest in evolutionary research is emphasized. How to apply: send a CV, a cover letter describing your qualifications and research interests, and contact information for three academic references to [email protected] . Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled, and the preferred start date is Summer 2026 .
