Assistant Professor in Law and Resilient Crime Prevention at Lund University

Lund University’s Faculty of Law is recruiting for Assistant Professor / Associate Senior Lecturer positions under the Lund University Programme for Global Excellence . The post is aimed at promising early-career researchers who want to build an independent research profile in law , with a focus on either the rule of law and access to justice (linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals) or health law / medical law . A related opening is also advertised in resilient crime prevention , in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences and the School of Social Work. The law position offers a 4-year fixed-term appointment with substantial time for research, teaching, outreach, collaboration, and Swedish language development. The crime prevention position is also a 4-year fixed-term appointment and is connected to the strategic research area BRiC: Building Resilience in Crime Prevention , focusing on child vulnerability, drug markets, and emerging technologies. Both roles emphasize high-quality research, international experience, and the ability to contribute to strong research environments. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a relevant doctorate or equivalent qualification, preferably awarded within the last 5 years. Required materials include a project/research plan, CV, publication list, teaching and research description, leadership/collaboration evidence, and proof that no salary or grant has been received from Swedish employers or funding bodies since 31 December 2022. Strong English skills and willingness to learn Swedish are required. Funding and support: the positions are salaried academic appointments, not scholarships. Lund University provides teaching training, Swedish courses, relocation support, and family integration support. The university also notes that appointments may be nominated for future Swedish Research Council funding for international assistant professors/associate senior lecturers. Application: submit the application electronically via Lund University’s recruitment portal. Make sure all requested documents are uploaded and that the application is complete before the deadline.
