Postdoctoral Research Positions in Neurobiology of the Dying Process, EEG Signal Processing, and Consciousness

Postdoctoral Research Positions are available in the Borjigin Laboratory at the Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) in Shenzhen, China. The lab is seeking several highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to investigate the neurobiology of the dying process in humans, with a strong focus on EEG signal processing, clinical physiological data analysis, and the neural basis of consciousness. Research topics include processing and interpreting human EEG and bedside clinical data from patients in terminal states, developing advanced algorithms for power density, coherence, cross-frequency coupling, and directed functional connectivity, and building models of the temporal and spatial evolution of neural surges in the human cortex during global ischemia or hypoxia. Applicants should hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a related quantitative field and demonstrate a deep interest in the dying brain and consciousness research. Required technical skills include time-frequency analysis, wavelet transforms, short-time Fourier transforms, coherence, Phase Lag Index (PLI), phase-amplitude coupling (PAC), transfer entropy or Granger causality, artifact removal, noise reduction, and strong MATLAB or Python programming ability. Fluent English is required. Preferred experience includes work with large-scale clinical datasets or electronic health records, neural correlates of consciousness (NCC), covert consciousness, and human cerebral cortex neuroanatomy. The position is onsite at SUAT in Shenzhen and is offered as a three-year fixed-term contract with performance-based reviews. The post also notes visa/work permit support for international scholars, along with access to Shenzhen postdoctoral subsidies and housing benefits. To apply, email a CV and brief cover letter to [email protected], highlighting relevant EEG signal processing or AI modeling experience.
