Postdoctoral Fellow in Neural Basis of Learning, Flexible Neural Computation, and Skilled Movement Control

The Neural Control & Computation Lab at York University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to study the neural basis of learning, flexible neural computation, and skilled movement control. The project uses large-scale electrophysiology from single-neuron populations in non-human primates, including high-density Neuropixels recordings and newly developed wireless, chronic Neuropixels recordings during naturalistic behavior. The fellow will be encouraged to develop an independent research direction within these themes. The lab is based in York’s new neuroscience facility and is connected to a strong research community spanning the Centre for Integrative and Applied Neuroscience (CIAN) , the Centre for Vision Research (CVR) , and the Connected Minds initiative in Toronto. Eligibility: Applicants should hold a PhD in Neuroscience or a closely related field, with experience or strong interest in non-human primate electrophysiology, large-scale neural data analysis, and computational modeling. Funding: Two-year appointment with potential extension; competitive salary starting at $65k/year plus benefits. Visa and relocation support are available for international applicants. Timing: Earliest start is September 2026 , with a negotiable start date. How to apply: The post says the application instructions and full job link are in the comments. Use the linked post/comments to find the official application details. Research keywords: neuroscience, neural computation, learning, movement control, electrophysiology, non-human primates, Neuropixels, computational modeling, neural data analysis.
