The Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) at The University of Hong Kong is seeking applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow position (Ref.: 533221). The appointment is full-time, commencing in the first or second quarter of 2026 for 18 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding. The successful candidate will join a vibrant interdisciplinary team and contribute to a General Research Fund (GRF) project. Responsibilities include generating independent research output, collaborating with interdisciplinary scholars, and preparing research proposals for competitive grants. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related social science field, and a strong publication record in reputable international journals. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of the Chinese media system, global social media environment and governance, and experience in computational social science, causal inference, text mining, machine learning, analysis of unstructured and multimodal data, or advanced quantitative methods and AI in communication studies.
