Manchester Metropolitan University is offering three fully funded PhD studentships through the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Doctoral Landscape Awards. These awards are open to both UK and international students interested in arts and humanities-led research, including written and practice-based projects. Research areas of interest include DIY culture, cultural activism, grassroots heritage, archives, memory, and digital information. The studentships provide 3.5 years of funding, covering tuition fees and a stipend at the UKRI 'home' rate. International students must pay the difference between home and international fees if awarded. The university encourages applications from underrepresented or disadvantaged groups, with at least one award reserved for such applicants. Applicants should have a first or upper second-class undergraduate degree and a distinction in a relevant master's degree, or demonstrate equivalent experience.
