The University of Texas at San Antonio

Postdoctoral Scholar in Respiratory Immunology and Early-Life Lung Health

Postdoctoral Scholar in Respiratory Immunology at The University of Texas at San Antonio (Vu Lab, Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology). This funded postdoctoral opening is focused on respiratory immunology , early-life immune programming , and the mechanisms that shape susceptibility to severe or chronic lung disease across preconception, pregnancy, infancy, and after infection. The lab is especially interested in how maternal, neonatal, and infection-related factors imprint the developing immune system and influence long-term lung health. Research themes include ILC2 biology , type 2-skewed airway inflammation , epigenetic and cellular mechanisms after infant RSV and influenza infection, mitochondrial and metabolic programming , high-dimensional flow cytometry , molecular immunology, and neonatal mouse models . The position is well suited to candidates interested in translational and mechanistic immunology with strong experimental skills. Eligibility highlights: a Ph.D. in immunology, biology, molecular/cellular biology, or a related field; strong lab-based research experience; and a track record of first-author publications . The post is described as full-time and funded, with opportunities to lead projects, publish, present at conferences, and develop toward an independent research career. To apply, send a CV and cover letter directly to [email protected] . No deadline was stated in the post.
