Technical Assistant Position in Translational Lung Fibrosis Research

The Deutsches Zentrum für Lungenforschung (DZL) in Giessen, Germany, is seeking a highly motivated Technical Assistant to join the BonHanZA study group, focusing on translational lung fibrosis research. This position offers hands-on involvement in cutting-edge experimental models and technologies, bridging basic science and clinical relevance. The research team is dynamic and international, providing a scientifically stimulating environment with access to advanced technologies. Key responsibilities include cell culture, molecular biology experiments, microscopy-based imaging and quantitative image analysis, flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) of lung-resident cells, ex vivo lung fibrosis models such as organoids and other 3D tissue culture systems, and in vivo lung fibrosis models involving experimental execution and sample preparation. The role is ideal for candidates interested in translational research, experimental disease models, and clinically relevant scientific questions. Applicants should have BTA/MTA training or a B.Sc. (or equivalent) in life sciences. Experience with FACS, microscopy, and ex vivo models is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a highly structured and reliable working style, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Fluency in English is required, and German language skills are an advantage. The position offers flexible working hours, an international research environment, and the opportunity to contribute to research with direct clinical relevance. No specific funding or salary information is provided. To apply, candidates should send a motivation letter, CV, and relevant certificates to Prof. Malgorzata Wygrecka at [email protected].
