Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network PhD Positions in Refractory Ceramics, Digitalisation, AI, and Industrial Decarbonisation

REFFRACTEUR is offering 15 fully funded PhD positions across Europe as part of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network (Industrial Doctorate). The project focuses on refractory ceramics and the digital transformation of the high-temperature industry, with research themes spanning materials science , digitalisation , AI , circular economy , and industrial decarbonisation . The programme is structured around several work packages, including circularity, life-cycle assessment (LCA), recycling, next-generation refractory materials, AI, digital twins, and industrial optimisation. It connects materials, data, and industrial processes into one coherent research vision aimed at transforming Europe’s high-temperature industries. This is a 36-month full-time researcher position with strong integration between academia and industry, including approximately 50% of the time in industry . The network includes academic, industrial, and non-profit partners across the EU. Applicants should be completing or have recently completed a MSc in materials science, engineering, or data science . The opportunity is designed for motivated candidates who want to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment and contribute to science with real industrial impact. Application deadline: 24 June 2026 (final deadline). Apply via: www.reffracteur.eu
