PhD Position in Antibody–Drug Conjugates for Alzheimer’s Disease Therapy and Imaging Mass Cytometry

Wrocław University of Science and Technology is advertising a PhD student position in an interdisciplinary project funded under the SONATA-BIS NCN programme. The research focuses on the development of the first antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) for Alzheimer’s disease therapy , combining chemistry , biology , and imaging mass cytometry (IMC) to investigate Alzheimer’s pathology in cell-based and mouse models . The project involves synthesis of metal-conjugated antibodies for IMC, preparation of brain tissue sections, in vitro ADC studies, data analysis, interpretation, and collaboration on scientific publications. This is a strong fit for candidates interested in translational research at the interface of biochemistry , molecular biology , biotechnology , medical science , and neuroscience . Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, or be in the final semester of an MSc with a planned thesis defense between July and September 2026. Prior laboratory experience in cell-based assays or flow cytometry is welcome but not required. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, eager to learn new experimental methods, and comfortable working in an interdisciplinary and international team. Funding: the selected PhD student will be enrolled in the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and will receive a doctoral scholarship plus an additional project-funded scholarship. The project is funded by the National Science Centre, Poland. How to apply: interested candidates should contact Marcin Poreba directly by email at [email protected] . The post does not specify a formal deadline, so early contact is advisable.
