This postdoctoral position is offered by the University of Oldenburg’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in partnership with the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). The role is embedded in a cross-border translational oncology initiative focused on hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HPB) cancer research, including liver, pancreas, and bile duct cancers. The successful candidate will join an international, interdisciplinary team working on patient-derived, fundamental, and translational research using both in vitro and in vivo models. The lab is part of UMCG’s Multidisciplinary Oncology Laboratory (MOL), which integrates research in medical, gynecologic, and hematologic oncology and provides access to advanced technologies and platforms. Collaboration with the Cross-border Institute of Healthcare Systems and Prevention (CBI) is a key aspect, fostering innovation in healthcare research between Germany and the Netherlands. The position is primarily based at UMCG in Groningen, with regular presence in Oldenburg, requiring flexibility and enthusiasm for cross-border work. Responsibilities include leading research projects aligned with the group’s priorities, supervising and mentoring junior researchers, managing projects, coordinating scientific communication and publications, networking, proposal writing, grant acquisition, and contributing to teaching.
