Dr. Md Kamran Chowdhury Shisher is building a new research group and is recruiting highly motivated PhD students interested in
wireless communication networks
,
information theory
,
stochastic optimization/control
, and
machine learning
. The group’s research directions include goal-oriented semantic communication and networks, AI for Networks and Networks for AI, mobile/edge/fog computing, distributed computing over networks, and networked machine learning such as federated and decentralized learning.
Eligibility highlights:
applicants should have a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. Strong interest and background in wireless communication, computer networks, machine learning, optimization, queueing theory, and probability are preferred. Programming and simulation skills in MATLAB and Python are also preferred, along with strong motivation for research, willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
