PhD Position in Civil Engineering: Probabilistic Seismic Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment at University of Minho

The University of Minho, through the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE), is offering a PhD position in Civil Engineering. This opportunity focuses on innovative research in probabilistic approaches to seismic hazard and vulnerability assessment, with an emphasis on incorporating relevant environmental effects to support safer and more sustainable communities. The research will be supervised by Prof. Paulo B. Lourenco and Assistant Researcher Shaghayegh Karimzadeh Naghshineh. Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Seismology, or a related field. A strong background in statistics, probabilistic methods, GIS, seismic hazard and vulnerability assessment, and earthquake engineering is required.
