MA in Intercultural Studies Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship at The Chinese University of Hong Kong
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is offering the CUHK-MAICS Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship for the 2026-27 academic year, supporting students from underrepresented groups to pursue a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAICS). This scholarship is designed for leaders and trailblazers in cultural work whose race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or nationality are not fully represented in the student body. The program especially encourages applications from citizens of Belt and Road Initiative countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa, with priority given to those with financial need.
The MAICS program focuses on intercultural studies, cultural studies, and diversity and inclusion, providing a unique opportunity for aspiring scholars and professionals interested in making significant contributions to these fields. The scholarship covers full tuition (HKD$175,000 per annum) and provides a monthly cost-of-living stipend (HK$90,000), making it a fully funded opportunity for eligible students.
Eligibility requirements include a recognized bachelor's degree (any major) with honours not lower than Second Class or an average grade of not lower than 'B', or equivalent professional qualifications. Applicants must also meet English language proficiency requirements (TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, or equivalent). Required application materials include a written statement (400-600 words), a portfolio of work, an application form, full official transcripts, certificates, proof of English proficiency, two confidential recommendations, identity documents, and a CV. Selection is based on academic qualifications, work portfolio, financial need, and potential for contribution to the field.
Applications are processed on a rolling basis, with a deadline of 15 January 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a panel interview, and results will be announced by March 2026.
