Postdoctoral Researcher in Photonic Integrated Circuits, AI, and Quantum Photonics at KAIST

The PICORE Center (Photonic Artificial Intelligence COmputing REsearch) at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher. The group, led by Associate Professor Sangsik Kim, focuses on cutting-edge research in Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for applications in artificial intelligence and quantum photonics. The research environment is dynamic, with rapid progress and new ideas emerging regularly. Key research areas include integrated photonics, quantum photonics, optics, AI, and nanofabrication, with an emphasis on developing impactful results in photonic computing. The successful candidate will work closely with well-trained KAIST students and contribute to the advancement of photonic technologies for AI and quantum applications. Applicants should have received their Ph.D. within the last five years. Preferred qualifications include experience in integrated photonics or PIC, a background in optics, quantum, or AI with an interest in expanding into PIC, and experience in nanofabrication with a goal to transition into PIC research. The position offers a competitive starting compensation of KRW 90 million per year plus incentives. For more information about the research topics and the group, candidates are encouraged to visit the lab website or contact Prof. Sangsik Kim directly at [email protected] . This is an excellent opportunity for researchers interested in photonics, quantum technologies, and AI-driven photonic systems to join a leading research group at KAIST.
