PhD in Data Sciences for Global Health: Ageing, Cognitive Disorders and Care Economy

Call for PhD applications in Data Sciences for Global Health for a project on Ageing, Cognitive Disorders and Care Economy with a focus on Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) . The position is jointly supervised by Shreya Biswas (Department of Economics and Finance, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus), Arindam Nandi (Population Council and One Health Trust), and Upasak Das (The University of Manchester). The opportunity is part of the PhD Program in Data Sciences for Global Health , jointly offered by BITS Pilani and the One Health Trust . Research themes include economics , public health , demography , public policy , biostatistics/statistics , and data-driven analysis of ageing and cognitive disorders in global health contexts. The program highlights strong quantitative training, applied empirical research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Eligibility: a Master’s degree in Economics, Public Health, Demography, Public Policy, Biostatistics/Statistics, or a related discipline; minimum 60% marks or equivalent; strong quantitative skills; interest in empirical and data-driven research; excellent academic record; and motivation for doctoral study. Experience with Stata , R , or Python is desirable. Funding: the post lists remuneration of Rs 37,000 per month . Deadline: April 30, 2026 . Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by May 10, 2026 .
