PhD and Postdoctoral Research Opportunities in Embedded AI, Biomedical Engineering, and Neuroinformatics at Vellore Institute of Technology

The Centre for Neuroinformatics at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai, led by Associate Professor Sofana Reka S, is inviting applications for full-time PhD scholars, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduate research students. The research group focuses on cutting-edge topics such as Embedded Artificial Intelligence, Edge AI, Intelligent Embedded Systems, Multimodal Sensing Technologies, Brain Health Monitoring (including EEG and emotion analysis), AI for Healthcare Applications, Real-Time Signal Processing, and Human-Centered AI Systems. PhD candidates should have backgrounds in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Embedded Systems, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, AI, or Instrumentation Engineering. Postdoctoral applicants are expected to have strong research experience in Embedded AI, Machine Learning, Biomedical Signal Processing, or Edge Computing. Undergraduate students from ECE, CSE, EEE, Biomedical, and related disciplines are also encouraged to apply for hands-on research experience, including opportunities to work on real projects, learn about embedded AI and intelligent sensing, and contribute to research publications.
