Research Associate-I (Postdoctoral) in Strongly Correlated Topological and Flat-Band Systems at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

Applications are invited for a Research Associate-I (Postdoctoral) position at the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad , under an ANRF-ARG sponsored project led by Dr. Sudeshna Sen (Assistant Professor). The project title is “Strong Correlation, Entanglement and Complexity in Topological and Flat Band Systems: A GPU Accelerated Approach.” The research sits at the intersection of condensed matter physics , strongly correlated electron systems , topological and flat-band physics , quantum many-body theory , entanglement , and GPU-accelerated computational methods . The successful candidate will contribute to theoretical and computational work, including code development, many-body calculations, and analysis of correlated topological systems. Eligibility highlights: candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or substantial post-master’s research/teaching/design experience as specified in the notice. A publication record in SCI-indexed journals is required, and prior experience in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics, scientific programming, or related strongly correlated/topological systems is preferred. The post also notes an upper age limit of 35 years, relaxable under Government of India norms. Funding: fellowship of ₹58,000 per month + HRA (18%) . The appointment is initially for one year , with possible extension based on performance and recommendation. Application deadline: 18 May 2026 (5:00 pm). Interested candidates should email a single PDF containing their CV, research proposal, past research experience, and publication list to [email protected] . For more information about the research group, the post links to Dr. Sudeshna Sen’s profile and group pages at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad.
