Postdoctoral Researcher in Ocean Oxygen Variability and Trends at Georgia Tech

Georgia Institute of Technology is advertising a postdoctoral researcher position in the group of Professor Takamitsu Ito for work on global and regional ocean oxygen variability and trends . The project centers on understanding uncertainties and links to physical and biogeochemical processes, with a strong emphasis on dissolved oxygen datasets , observational intercomparison, and the Gridded Dataset Intercomparison Project for Dissolved Oxygen (GODIP-DO) . The postdoc will be based at Georgia Tech and collaborate closely with co-PI Jonathan Sharp at the University of Washington/CICIOS. This is a research-intensive opportunity for candidates interested in oceanography , biogeochemistry , chemical oceanography , physical oceanography , and physical-biogeochemical interactions , especially those who enjoy working with large geophysical datasets and quantitative methods. Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD in oceanography or a related field. Strong preparation in biogeochemistry, chemical and/or physical oceanography, or related interdisciplinary marine science is preferred. The post also values excellent quantitative skills, including statistics , scientific computing , machine learning , and experience with large datasets. Publication record and conference presentation experience are also emphasized, along with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment. How to apply: submit a CV and cover letter through the Georgia Tech Careers portal using Job ID 297564 . The post does not mention a deadline, funding package, or tuition support, and it is presented as a research staff/postdoctoral opening rather than a scholarship.
