Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry and Physics for STM/AFM, TERS, and Surface Science
Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada is advertising a
funded postdoctoral fellowship
in the Departments of Chemistry and Physics under the supervision of
Professor Taleana Huff
.
The project is centered on
surface science
,
chemistry
,
physics
, and
materials science
, with a strong emphasis on advanced experimental methods such as
STM/AFM
,
TERS
,
ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems
, advanced quantitative measurements, and optics. The role also involves work on particles on metal surfaces, microscope-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, and related nanoscale characterization.
This is a research-intensive postdoctoral position for candidates with a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong hands-on experience with STM/AFM, UHV systems, and surface science is required. Experience with TERS, Python or LabVIEW programming, and advanced optical measurements is highly desirable. The postdoc will design and implement experiments, publish research, present at conferences, maintain and modify UHV SPM systems, and contribute to supervision and training of postgraduate students.
Funding includes a minimum annual salary of
CAD 51,475
, plus health insurance, comprehensive employment benefits, child care support, and other university benefits. The appointment starts immediately with flexibility on the start date and is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement.
To apply, candidates should email a CV and a brief statement of research interests and fit with the lab project to
