Postdoctoral Fellow in Neurodevelopmental Mechanisms of Addiction and Extracellular Vesicles

The Lallai Lab at the University of South Carolina is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on the neurodevelopmental mechanisms of addiction . The project combines rodent models , molecular biology , behavioral analysis , extracellular vesicle research, and related molecular/cellular approaches to understand how neurodevelopmental processes and vesicle-mediated cell communication shape neural circuits involved in addictive behaviors. This postdoc is based in the Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences , College of Pharmacy, and includes hands-on research using animal behavior, in vivo surgical techniques, molecular and cellular assays, extracellular vesicle isolation and characterization, brain tissue collection, fluorescence microscopy, NanoSight nanoparticle tracking analysis, and data analysis with Prism, ImageJ, and MATLAB. Eligibility highlights: applicants must have a Ph.D. in an area of research specialty by the start date. Preferred experience includes rodent models , molecular biology , and behavioral analysis , along with strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Funding: this is a full-time postdoctoral staff research grant position with an anticipated salary range of $52,526-$65,658 . Benefits may be available depending on grant/project funding. Application window: applications are accepted until June 27, 2026 . Interested candidates should apply through the USC jobs portal and may contact [email protected] with questions.
