Full/Associate Professor in Indigenous Studies (Canada Research Chair Tier 1) at McGill University

McGill University’s Faculty of Arts Institute for Indigenous Research and Knowledges (FAIIRK) is inviting applications for a senior tenure-track position in Indigenous Studies. The appointment is at the rank of Full Professor, or Associate Professor who is expected to be promoted to Full Professor within two years. This position carries the possibility of a Canada Research Chair (CRC Tier 1) for qualified First Nations, Inuit, or Metis candidates. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of Indigenous scholars and contribute to the intellectual and academic life of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, develop curriculum at all levels in their areas of specialization, supervise and mentor graduate students, and contribute to the university’s service and leadership. Within 2-3 years of appointment, the candidate will be expected to take on the service responsibility of FAIIRK Director. The position is open to Indigenous scholars with a strong record of research, teaching, and service in Indigenous Studies or closely related fields. Applicants must be at the Full Professor level or Associate Professor with a clear trajectory to Full Professor within two years.
