Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

Applications are invited for 15 funded PhD positions in Geosciences across Europe within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Actions Network RESCUE (Remediation Enhanced by Subsurface Characterisation & monitoring Using geophysical Evaluation).

The projects sit at the intersection of Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geology, Geophysics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, and Economics. Research themes mentioned in the post include geophysical methods and data analysis, soil and groundwater contamination and remediation, environmental chemistry, biogeochemical processes, plant sciences, agronomy, phytomanagement, modelling and quantitative analysis of environmental and geophysical data, inversion, uncertainty quantification, physics-based and data-driven modelling, and AI/ML.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as geophysics, geology, geosciences, environmental sciences, bioscience, civil engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, agronomy, computer science, data science, economics, or a related field. Candidates must not already hold a doctoral degree. The network is open to any nationality, but applicants must satisfy the MSCA mobility rule and demonstrate at least B2 English proficiency. Experience with Python, R, MATLAB, quantitative analysis, modelling, and related scientific programming is considered an asset.
