Australia Awards Scholarships for Masters in Agriculture, Climate Change, Policy, Social Inclusion, and Mining Australian universities (Australia Awards) in Australia

The Australia Awards Scholarships are now open for application, offering fully funded opportunities for suitably qualified candidates from eligible African countries to pursue a Masters degree at Australian universities. The program is designed to support partner countries in Africa in achieving their development goals through education, knowledge exchange, and building enduring relationships with Australia. It aims to equip emerging leaders with the skills, networks, and experience needed to contribute to sustainable development and foster international cooperation.

Applicants are assessed on their professional and personal qualities, academic competence, and, most importantly, their potential to exercise leadership and impact on development challenges in their home countries. The program strongly encourages applications from women, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.

The scholarship covers full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance on arrival, contribution to living expenses (stipend), introductory academic program, overseas student health cover, pre-course English fees, and supplementary academic and research support. Priority fields of study for eligible African countries include agriculture and food security, climate change, foreign policy and international security, gender, disability and social inclusion, and mining and energy.

Eligible countries include Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, the Gambia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
