The DAAD Sub-Saharan Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded opportunity for African students to pursue Master’s or PhD studies in a wide range of development-related fields at top institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the programme aims to strengthen higher education systems and support sustainable development in the region. Eligible fields include Physics, Molecular Cell Biology of Infectious Diseases, Bioinformatics, Soil & Water Engineering, Food Science & Technology, Environmental Health, Energy Technology, Education in Research, Geomatics, Public Health, Parasitology, Pharmacology, Food Chemistry, Biostatistics, and more. The scholarship covers full tuition, monthly stipends, research grants, travel allowances, and provides academic and professional support through the DAAD network.

Applicants must be citizens of a Sub-Saharan African country, hold the relevant prior degree (Bachelor’s for Master’s, Master’s for PhD), and plan to study in their home country or another Sub-Saharan African country.
