The University of Melbourne is offering up to 600 fully funded Graduate Research Scholarships for the 2026 academic year in Australia. These scholarships are available for students undertaking a Masters by Research or a doctoral (PhD) degree. The scholarships provide a full fee offset for up to two years for Masters by Research students and up to four years for doctoral students. In addition, recipients will receive a living allowance of $39,500 per year (2026 full-time study rate), paid pro rata for up to two years for Masters or 3.5 years for PhD students. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave.

International students are eligible and will receive Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership if a student visa is required. Relocation grants are also available: $2000 for students moving from other Australian states or territories, and $3000 for those relocating from outside Australia.
