Edith Cowan University scholarship

Edith Cowan University is offering a fully funded postgraduate research opportunity in fisheries genomics for a Masters or PhD candidate. The project is based in Perth, Western Australia, and is run in partnership with the Western Australian Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD).

The research will use modern genomic tools to study nearshore, estuarine, and/or freshwater species. Key topics include population connectivity, local adaptation, evolutionary histories, genetic diversity, and population resilience. The outcomes are intended to support fisheries assessment and management by testing whether population structure matches management scales.

This opportunity is especially relevant to students interested in biology, environmental science, and applied fisheries management. The scholarship is valued at $41,000 per year for 3 years, with a possible 6-month extension.
