About this position

The FIDMAG Research Foundation invites applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 in Health Sciences and Neurosciences. This prestigious fellowship is aimed at exceptional researchers holding a PhD who wish to develop an independent research project in collaboration with FIDMAG. The foundation is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of major mental illnesses through both basic and clinical research, with a strong emphasis on prevention, recovery, and innovative treatment strategies.

FIDMAG’s research focuses on severe mental disorders, particularly psychosis, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. The team has recognized expertise in neuroimaging and genetics, employing state-of-the-art structural and functional imaging methodologies to investigate changes in the brain associated with these conditions. The research also explores the relationship between imaging findings, symptoms, and cognition, and includes clinical trials and studies in neuropsychology and genetics.

The foundation consists of a core team of 20 dedicated researchers and collaborates with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and health professionals within the Fundación Hospitalarias network, as well as with national and international academic partners. The research environment is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, offering access to advanced facilities and a supportive network for career development.

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship provides full funding through the Horizon Europe programme, including salary, research costs, and mobility allowance, in accordance with MSCA guidelines. The position is based in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain, and is a full-time, temporary contract starting May 2027.
