The University of Burgos (UBU) invites applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship in Historical Grammar of Spanish. Research areas may include historical grammar, diachronic morphology and syntax, linguistic change and variation, grammaticalization, morphosyntactic evolution, history of the Spanish language, analysis of historical texts and documentary sources, corpus-based approaches to diachronic linguistics, and interfaces between syntax, morphology, and semantics in historical stages.
UBU offers comprehensive support throughout the MSCA PF application process, including proposal-writing training, assignment of an experienced academic supervisor in Hispanic linguistics, mentoring, scientific integration, career development support, assistance with administrative and relocation procedures, and opportunities to participate in international research networks and projects.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Linguistics, Hispanic Philology, Spanish Language, or related disciplines and comply with the MSCA mobility rule (not having resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months during the last 3 years). A strong research profile in historical grammar or diachronic studies of Spanish is required, along with the capacity to develop an independent research project. Experience with historical texts and/or linguistic corpora is an asset. Spanish language proficiency is expected, and proficiency in other languages is advantageous. Excellent English is required.
The fellowship provides a monthly gross salary of 5,726.44€, a mobility allowance of 710€, and a family allowance of 660€, with a duration of 24 months. The position is funded through Horizon Europe - MSCA. The application deadline is 30 June 2026.
