The CK-BTI Program under the Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), KEMRI, is offering partial scholarships for the May 2026 intake for the Master of Science in Bioethics (MBE) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes. These programs are hosted at Mount Kenya University and Amref International University, both leading institutions in Kenya. The scholarships are designed for students passionate about ethical issues in healthcare, life sciences, and research ethics, aiming to make a positive impact on society through their work.

The curriculum covers a broad range of topics including moral reasoning, ethical dilemmas in medical practice, research ethics, policy, and the intersection of science, religion, and technology. Graduates will be equipped for careers in bioethics, research, healthcare policy, and community service, with a strong emphasis on critical analysis, problem-solving, and lifelong learning.

Eligibility for the Master’s program requires an Upper Second Class Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with alternative pathways for Lower Second and Pass degree holders based on work experience and additional qualifications. The Postgraduate Diploma is open to graduates from any field or holders of advanced higher diplomas. All applicants must provide an updated CV, transcripts, and a letter of interest.

Partial scholarships are awarded after successful enrollment and completion of at least one semester. Tuition fees are KShs 90,000 per semester for the Master’s and KShs 50,000 per semester for the Diploma. The application process involves applying to the university, then submitting a scholarship application package to the CK-BTI team.
