PhD and Postdoctoral Fellowships in Green Hydrogen and Clean Energy – University of Groningen University of Groningen in Netherlands

The India–Netherlands Fellowship Programme, coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, in partnership with the Netherlands Innovation Network India and the University of Groningen, offers outstanding research opportunities in green hydrogen and clean energy. This fellowship is designed for doctoral scholars, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty interested in advancing hydrogen technologies through international collaboration.

The host institution for all positions is the University of Groningen, a leading research university in the Netherlands. The fellowship covers a range of research areas including hydrogen production, storage and transport, fuel cells, life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis, as well as curriculum and testing facilities development. These topics are at the forefront of chemical engineering, environmental science, and mechanical engineering, making this an ideal opportunity for researchers in these fields.

Financial support is generous: doctoral fellows receive €1,500 per month plus a €375 monthly top-up, postdoctoral fellows receive €2,000 per month, and faculty receive €1,000 per month. There are no bench fees for doctoral and postdoctoral fellows, and travel and visa support are provided for these categories. The fellowship duration is up to 12 months for doctoral scholars and 12 months for postdocs and faculty.
