Exciting PhD opportunity in agricultural science at the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), working from the Vegetable Research Facility in North-West Tasmania / Cradle Coast.

The project focuses on sustainable horticulture and nitrogen management, asking how smarter nitrogen use can improve crop productivity while reducing environmental impacts. The research combines field and lab research to understand how crops use nitrogen in real-world systems, with the goal of improving efficiency, reducing fertiliser losses, and supporting sustainable yields.

This PhD sits within a nationally significant research program aimed at lowering emissions in horticulture. The student will collaborate with researchers and industry partners to deliver practical, science-based solutions for the vegetable and horticulture sectors.

A scholarship is available. The post does not provide the stipend amount, tuition coverage, or other funding specifics.
