Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards

Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Canada is inviting expressions of interest from international doctoral candidates for Wave 2 of the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards, a federal initiative supporting doctoral recruitment in Canada.

This opportunity is aimed at a PhD project in the human and social sciences, with priority areas including artificial intelligence, advanced digital technologies, health and biotechnology, clean technology, environment and climate resilience, food and water security, democratic and community resilience, manufacturing and advanced materials, and defence and dual-use technologies.

The award provides CAD 40,000 per year for 3 years. SPU notes that it has one doctoral nomination available for this round. The call is open to candidates of any citizenship who are currently outside Canada and not affiliated with a Canadian institution.

Applicants should send an updated CV, a brief summary of the proposed doctoral research project, current institution and country of residence, and main research interests to the Office of Research and Ethics at [email protected]. The internal deadline to express interest is May 1, 2026.
