Applicants must have completed a Master of Science degree with thesis work, a research masters/M. Phil degree, or a comparable degree relevant to Communication (including management, communication studies, political sciences, psychology, sociology, and philosophy) by early summer 2026. An MBA does not qualify. Final year Master of Science students may apply. Required application materials include degree certificates and transcripts, a Diploma Supplement, a 5-10 page project proposal, CV, at least two letters of recommendation, certificates from doctoral-level courses (if applicable), a list of publications and relevant activities, signed verification document, and TOEFL/IELTS scores (waiver possible). All documents must be uploaded electronically; late or emailed documents are not accepted except for students finishing their master’s in 2026.
The scholarship provides an annual stipend of NOK 572,800 (subject to adjustment), automatic membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, and teaching duties. PhD candidates will work at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo.
