About this position
Postdoctoral scholarship in Immunology at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a scholarship-based position in immunology. The project is hosted in the laboratory of Itziar Martinez Gonzalez and focuses on the role of innate and adaptive type 2 lymphocytes in allergic diseases, with direct relevance to asthma and atopic dermatitis.
The work is based in the Division of Virology and Immunology at MTC, with access to advanced cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, microscopy, animal facilities, and omics resources through SciLifeLab. The post is designed for a highly motivated researcher who can lead an independent project while contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent degree, or complete all requirements before the start date. A strong background in immunology is required. Documented experience with mouse handling procedures and high-dimensional flow cytometry is required. Prior experience in bioinformatic data analysis is prioritized. At least one first-author publication in a recognized peer-reviewed journal is required. Strong scientific writing, communication skills, independence, teamwork, and English proficiency are also required. Experience with mouse genetics, GitHub, R, and high-throughput data analysis is considered meritorious.
Funding: the position is a scholarship, tax free, normally awarded for 12 months at a time and paid in six-month installments. In exceptional cases, shorter periods may be accepted. The scholarship may be granted for up to two years within a four-year period after the doctorate.
