TechGirls 2026 Fully Funded Summer Exchange Program in STEM and Leadership for Young Women Virginia Tech University in United States

The TechGirls 2026 Summer Exchange Program is a fully funded initiative by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, designed to empower young women aged 15-17 from the United States and 37 eligible countries. The program aims to expand the talent pipeline in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by providing hands-on training, leadership development, and global exposure. Hosted in partnership with Virginia Tech University, participants engage in a dynamic three-week U.S.-based experience, including an interactive tech camp focused on cutting-edge technologies and various educational and professional paths in STEM fields.

TechGirls offers a comprehensive package covering accommodation, flight tickets, visa fees, and meals, ensuring no financial burden for participants. The program includes a 23-day immersive experience in the United States, followed by community immersion and STEM career exploration in cities such as Austin, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, or Seattle. Additionally, participants benefit from a seven-month mentoring program, supporting pre- and post-exchange activities and enabling them to conduct impactful community-based projects upon returning home.

Eligibility is open to young women aged 15-17 with a strong interest in STEM, leadership, and international experience. Applicants must be from one of the eligible countries or the United States, demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and motivation to pursue STEM careers. English proficiency and readiness to participate in a U.S.-based program are required. The application deadline is January 20, 2026.
