About this position

The University of Edinburgh is offering The Glenmore Medical Postgraduate Scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic session. This prestigious scholarship is available to students accepted for admission to eligible Human Medical MSc programmes, both on-campus (full-time) and online (part-time). The scholarship particularly encourages applications from students domiciled in eligible countries, primarily from Africa and other countries listed by the University based on the DAC List of ODA Recipients.

Eligible programmes include a wide range of medical and health-related MSc degrees such as Critical Care, Clinical Education, Clinical Management of Pain, Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Clinical Trials, Data Science for Health and Social Care, Epidemiology, Global Health and Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors, Primary Care Ophthalmology, Science Communication and Public Engagement, Surgical Sciences, Cancer Biology and Precision Oncology, Public Health, Family Medicine, Human Anatomy, Biomedical Sciences (Life Sciences), Integrative Neuroscience, Reproductive Sciences, and Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Repair.

The Glenmore Scholarship covers full tuition fees for the duration of the programme and any additional programme costs as quoted on the degree finder. The selection is based on academic merit and the strength of a personal statement. Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree and must not have previously studied at Masters level. Preference is given to those with an unconditional offer at the time of the scholarship application deadline.

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement addressing their motivation for choosing the programme, how the programme will benefit their career and personal development, and how it will enable them to contribute to their community or country. The application process involves first applying for admission to an eligible programme, then completing the online scholarship application via MyEd (EUCLID). The deadline for scholarship applications is May 28, 2026. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by late June or early July 2026.

For further details, applicants are encouraged to visit the official scholarship page and contact [email protected] for admissions-related queries.
