About this position

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2026 offers outstanding international students from non-EU/EEA countries the opportunity to pursue a master's degree at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. This prestigious scholarship is open to applicants across a wide range of academic fields, including Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering & Management, Communication Science, Electrical Engineering, Environmental & Energy Management, Educational Science & Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Philosophy of Science, Technology & Society, Psychology, Robotics, Management, and Statistics, among others.

The UTS provides financial support ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year, intended to help cover study-related expenses. For students enrolled in two-year master's programs, the scholarship may be extended for a second year, provided academic progress requirements are met. The scholarship does not directly cover tuition fees; recipients are responsible for managing the funds to support their studies. Additional scholarships, such as the Kipaji Scholarship, may be available for eligible students who indicate their interest during the application process.

To be eligible, applicants must be excellent students from non-EU/EEA countries who have been (provisionally) admitted to a qualifying master's program at the University of Twente. Candidates must meet the university's English language requirements and demonstrate a strong academic record. For two-year programs, continuation of the scholarship into the second year requires an average grade of 7 (out of 10) and at least 50% of European Credits by the end of the third quartile of the first year. Additional requirements apply for the Kipaji Scholarship.

The application process involves first applying for admission to a master's program at the University of Twente. Once (provisionally) admitted, students can submit a separate application for the UTS via the university's scholarship portal. The first application deadline is 1 February 2026. Applicants interested in the Kipaji Scholarship should indicate this in their motivation letter and review the specific requirements for that program.

This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for talented students to join a vibrant academic community in the Netherlands, gain access to world-class research and education, and make a global impact in their chosen fields.
