Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026 for Life Sciences Undergraduates Vienna BioCenter in Austria

The Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026 is now accepting applications from talented undergraduate students in the life sciences. This prestigious nine-week research program is hosted at one of Europe's leading research centers in Vienna, Austria, and is designed to prepare students for graduate study and research careers in biology and related fields. The program is a collaboration between several renowned institutes, including the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA), Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI), Max Perutz Labs Vienna, University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna, and CeMM.

Participants will undertake a research project in a cutting-edge laboratory, working closely with a faculty member and receiving full supervision. The program includes practical laboratory work, participation in lab meetings, journal clubs, and other academic activities. Scholars are expected to perform experiments, analyze data, generate ideas, and discuss their results in a collaborative environment.

The 'Talents-for-Future' initiative within the Summer School aims to provide research opportunities to highly motivated students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, making the program accessible and career-enabling. Selected fellows benefit from free student accommodation, a generous stipend of 1400 euros after tax for the nine-week program, medical insurance, and more. There is no application fee, and applications are welcomed from students worldwide who have completed at least two years of university study in a life sciences-related field.
