The project aims to develop a coupled surface water-groundwater hydrological model (e.g., SWAT+MODFLOW) to quantify nutrient fluxes and forecast cyanobacterial blooms in the Ross River Dam, addressing water security challenges in tropical Australia. This is a collaborative effort supported by Townsville City Council, with a focus on tropical catchment processes under changing land use and climate conditions. The scholarship provides a tax-free stipend of $34,000 AUD per year for 3.5 years, a full tuition waiver, and opportunities for conference and professional development.
