Postdoc opportunity in plant ecology, conservation biology, and climate adaptation at the University of Marburg. The position is in the Conservation Biology Research Group led by Prof. Dr. Anna Lampei-Bucharova in the Department of Biology. The project studies local adaptation in plants, especially the wild annual grass Hordeum murinum, across Europe and North Africa, with a broader focus on plant ecology, evolution, and climate change adaptation.

The postdoc will help design, perform, and coordinate a large reciprocal transplant experiment across Europe and North Africa, coordinate collaborating researchers, supervise students, curate and analyze data, co-develop research questions and experiments, and prepare publications. The post also mentions collaboration with plant geneticists and participation in the DFG-funded consortium TRR341 (Plant Ecological Genetics).

Eligibility highlights: MSc or equivalent and PhD in ecology or a related field; scientific publications; strong English skills and ability to communicate in German; ability to do fieldwork across Europe; excellent communication skills; experience with R-based data analysis, common garden experiments, and student supervision; driving license B.

Funding and terms: Full-time position (100%) paid at E13 TV-H, funded by DFG/TRR341. Start date is 2026-07-01 and the contract runs until 2030-06-30.
