About this position

Join the Xu Landén group at Karolinska Institutet as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Biology, focusing on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of skin wound healing. The group combines advanced omics technologies, bioinformatics, and clinical collaboration to address fundamental and translational questions in tissue repair, with a particular emphasis on chronic wounds, regulatory RNAs, and epigenetic memory.

The successful candidate will lead and support computational analyses of high-dimensional molecular data related to wound healing and skin biology. Responsibilities include developing and applying reproducible pipelines for single-cell and spatial omics analyses, performing quality control, preprocessing, integration, annotation, visualization, and downstream statistical analyses, as well as contributing to data management and workflow development. The role also involves supporting large-scale analyses in Linux and HPC environments, maintaining the group’s computational infrastructure, collaborating with wet-lab researchers and clinicians, and contributing to manuscripts and grant applications.

Applicants must have a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, or a related field, with strong programming skills in R and/or Python, experience in omics data analysis, and proficiency in reproducible data analysis and workflow development. Additional desirable qualifications include experience in skin biology, tissue repair, epigenetics, multi-omics integration, advanced statistics, machine learning, and collaborative research projects.

The position is a tax-free postdoctoral scholarship, set for twelve months at a time and paid out on a six-month basis, with a maximum duration of two years. The scholarship is intended for foreign researchers who have not completed their academic education in Sweden. The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna, in the Division of Dermatology and Venereology. The Xu Landén group investigates the mechanisms underlying skin physiology and disease, aiming to develop better treatments and advance translational dermatology research. Current projects include building single-cell and spatial maps of human wounds, defining the function of wound-related regulatory RNAs, and investigating how epigenetic memory influences wound repair.
