The division of Food and Nutrition Science is recognized as a leading unit in Sweden, with expertise in nutritional and computational metabolomics, dietary biomarkers, micronutrient metal nutrition, nutritional immunology, marine food science, plant-based foods, food biotechnology, and protein technology. The division is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical tools, including chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, in vitro human cell laboratories, and microbiology facilities.
The research project focuses on advancing innovative dietary strategies that support individual well-being and sustainable food consumption. The team evaluates personalized responses to foods and dietary patterns, aiming to facilitate healthier and more sustainable diets at the individual level. As a Doctor in Precision Nutrition, you will lead ongoing activities in the large EU project SWITCH, which assesses strategies for healthy and sustainable food consumption with respect to health and environmental sustainability. The project is conducted in collaboration with RISE, 21 European partners, and the Life Style Intervention Centre at Östra Hospital in Gothenburg, with additional support from the Västra Götalands Region.
Responsibilities include managing Chalmers' participation in the EU SWITCH project, assisting in intervention studies, and coordinating a dietary intervention study to evaluate bread quality effects on appetite, food intake, and metabolism. You will lead the dietary intervention team at the Wallenberg Laboratory (including nurses, dietitians, laboratory assistants, students, and postdocs), collect and manage data, and present results in scientific publications and conferences.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in nutrition, medicine, dietetics, or a closely related field. Fluency in a Scandinavian language is required for participant interactions. Experience in dietary intervention studies, data analysis, and scientific presentation is mandatory. Experience with research on health effects of carbohydrate quality and portfolio diets in cardiometabolic disease is considered meritorious.

Chalmers offers a dynamic and inspiring working environment in Gothenburg, with a strong commitment to gender balance, equality, and inclusion. The university fosters innovation and scientific excellence, collaborating closely with academia and industry.
