The successful candidate will join a vibrant research community at UEA, supported by the ARIES cohort and international collaborators in the Netherlands and Seychelles. Training will be provided in fieldwork, sequencing, bioinformatics, data analysis, scientific writing, and public communication, with additional opportunities to develop transferable skills for future employability. Applicants should have a strong background in evolutionary or conservation genetics/genomics, with experience in bioinformatics or coding preferred.

Fieldwork skills are optional. Entry requirements include at least a UK equivalent Bachelors (Honours) 2:1 degree in Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline, with data handling training, and an English language qualification (IELTS 6.5 overall, minimum 6 in each category). Funding is available through a fully-funded ARIES studentship for eligible candidates, covering tuition fees, a maintenance stipend (£20,780 p.a. for 2025/26), and a research training and support grant.
