About this position

The Strategy & Entrepreneurship research group at UCL School of Management is recruiting new PhD students.

Strategy & Entrepreneurship Research is focused on understanding what makes organisations successful and what leads to new business formation. Topics of interest include digitisation, AI, platforms, new and decentralised organisational forms, learning, innovation, competition, interorganisational relationships, corporate and entrepreneurial strategy, reputation and identity.

All accepted students receive a full scholarship and generous stipend.

We prioritize fit with the research interests of faculty. Successful applicants will articulate research interests closely aligned with those of research faculty members. Our research faculty includes Angela Aristidou , Rohin Borpujari , Anil Doshi , Soong Moon Kang , Davide Ravasi , Jen Rhymer , Joost Rietveld , Daniel Sands , Mihaela Stan , Bart Vanneste , and JP Vergne .

Recent alumni of the research group includes Joe Ploog and Amirhossein (Miros) Zohrehvand .

All accepted PhD students receive a fully funded scholarship covering tuition and a generous stipend for living expenses.

What's required

Applicants must have a first-class Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a leading university. A Master’s degree is not required. International students must meet UCL’s Level 1 English language requirement (IELTS 6.5 overall, minimum 6.0 in each sub-test; TOEFL 92 overall, 24/30 in writing). All applicants are normally expected to submit GMAT or GRE scores, though there is no minimum score. Strong fit with faculty research interests is prioritized. Candidates from diverse backgrounds (engineering, economics, business, mathematics/statistics, psychology, sociology, anthropology) are encouraged to apply.
